What is Speeddating?
Speeddating is a concept that originated in Los Angeles, USA (more specifically Pete’s Cafe in Beverly Hills) back in January 1999 as a way for Jewish singles to meet one another. However it didn’t take long for the concept to break out and spread beyond that community into other US Cities, Europe, and now very rapidly throughout Asia.

By definition, Speed Dating is an opportunity for you to quickly meet a minimum number of eligible singles in a comfortable, face-to-face environment (usually a restaurant or a well known bar) in one evening.   The events are usually well organized, and designed to make you feel comfortable and relaxed.  For a nominal admission fee (which usually includes a cocktail and light snacks), the Speeddate “Promoter” not only provides a venue with other like minded Singles, but is actively responsible for engaging the guests and encouraging interaction all evening.

Women usually remain seated at small Tables-for-2, while the men switch seats after the ring of each bell.  Following each quick “date” (usually lasting 5 to 8 minutes of interactive questions),  you mark “Yes” next to the name of your favored date on a discreet match card and return it to the Promoter. After a few days, the Promoter will let you know who also picked you and exchange your contact information with all the positive matches!  Many individuals go to these events to find out whether there is the right “chemistry/attraction“. We all know what we want; and these events provide a quick, fun and efficient way to find it.  While feeling apprehensive right before arriving, most attendees would later confess: ”It was so much fun!!”

You’ll be surprised at how quickly you open up and enjoy the evening. It’s important to remember that you are surrounded by other busy single people who are not just there to meet a new love, but also to make new friends!  No more staring at some “hottie” at the bar from across the room, a good promoter will make sure you meet EVERYONE.
